Directly from the gite, and within a radius of 15km, no matter what the season this area offers many sporting and leisure activities.

Mountain biking, (the gite is placed on one of the many marked circuits) , equitation, motor sports, lake or river fishing (Lac des Pradeaux at 5 kms, the rivers Dore and L’Ance nearby).
Nordic ski centre at 4.5 km, (crosscountry skiing, snowshoe walking, dog sledging, downhill skiing) also nearby : canoeing, hang gliding, climbing, tennis, there are also 2 artificial lakes (swimming , children’s games and activities....) in Ambert (also indoor swimming pool and water park) and Saint-Anthème. You can also wander direct from the gite into the forest, to collect wild mushrooms, raspberries and bilberries or simply to explore....or if you prefer just relax and do nothing..!.

Many of these activities can be undertaken with the assistance of qualified guides and instructors.

Located in the heart of the Parc Naturel du Livradois-Forez, the gite is very close to the classified site known as the Hautes Chaumes a “natural monument” of the Parc, which is home to many rare and remarkable species of flora and fauna.

The Abbey at La Chaise-Dieu, the medieval towns of Ambert and Thiers, the paper museum at the moulin Richard-de-Bas, the"école 1900" at Saint-Martin-des-Olmes, the Discovery Train, gardens, zoos, and not forgetting the volcanoes and"Vulcania"... there are also many festivals (classical concerts at La Chaise-Dieu, and cultural and folkloric music of the world in Ambert).
